Since April 2021, REWE Homberg & Budnik has installed a screen at each of its service counters and egg shelves, where consumers are given insights into the animals’ husbandry conditions via livestream. This is rewarded with a lot of attention and praise from customers. Transparency, authenticity and credibility are the basis for increased consumer trust, especially in food retailing.
